This concept is more than just a cancer patient wishing to have her hair again. Rather, it is the idea that she wishes for what having her hair back represents; she yearns to have her life back to normal where she no longer has cancer. As the cancer worsens, her getting better is almost a fantasy from fairy tales like that of Rapunzel.
My hope is that this not only spreads the word of breast cancer but gives people the desire to support all going through the burdens of what all cancer brings.
Here are some lyrics of a song that seems relevant that has been dancing around in my head as I was finishing this up:
~ ~ ~
Breast Cancer and Chemotherapy Took away her crown and glory She promised God if she was to survive She would enjoy everyday of her life On national television Her diamond eyes are sparkling Bald headed like a full moon shining Singing out to the whole wide world like Hey… I am not my hair I am not this skin I am not your expectations I am not my hair I ma not this skin I am a soul that lives within

Enjoy, and PLEASE, I need some constructive feedback since I want this to be the best it can be.
Just decided to drop by, and take a look at your most recent artwork, Bliss-chan. This digital painting is really well-done in both the color palette, her expression, and the composition. Like you, I'm a big fan of both the real, and the fantasy worlds. The back of her skull could be a little bit bigger like a ball, and try to bring her neck to underneath the chin. Also it would be a good idea to soften the shading a tad.
I can totally relate to this because I lost my great-aunt, Hilkka to stomach cancer last August 2010.
If you're going to submit this to a Breast Cancer Awareness Center it would be a really good idea to copyright this wonderful piece of digital painting so you can keep it as your ARTWORK.
thanks for your words and feedback and even personal relation to the picture. I used a reference so her head shape was based upon it. I may need to work on my shading some but I am not sure now since I have not digitally painting something in quite some time. not to day that this is very old but that I am not sure if now I have regressed of improved.
but yes, thanks again, and hope to see some more feedback from you in the future.
